Value someone who can do the numbers

Doing the numbers is not doing the accounts!

When we realise that we manage what we measure we value the person who can do the numbers. Before many things can be compared or measured someone has to create a value matrix.


This invariably requires converting something that has a non-numeric value into numbers and people that can do this well are hugely valuable. Once decoded many more people have the opportunity to be involved in what would otherwise be a hidden world.
