Wander Cafe and Bistrot, located in the Auckland CBD, experienced a decrease in turnover following the August 2021 Covid-19 lockdown. To revive their business, their focus turned to night-time opportunities, particularly dinner service, and the ability to increase foot traffic to the store.
Wander is a polished Bistro in the Wynyard Quarter in Auckland brought to life by the Team behind Ambler. This sophisticated bistro seats 90 guests and serves fresh, seasonal dishes with a French twist. Their menu includes all-day brunch, available until 3 pm, bistro choices available from 11 am until late, and baked goods, filled baguettes, and sandwiches. The drinks list is impressive, with a great selection of wine and beer. A great option for customers looking for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner, Wander needed to improve its visibility to grow its customer base.
We started our engagement with a marketing audit to understand better their marketing activities, identify gaps and opportunities.
Through our audit we found that our main objective should be to increase Wander’s online presence and engagement by enhancing their website’s user experience and optimizing SEO to attract a broader customer base.
The proposed solution involved implementing a keyword strategy on the website and on Google My Business and implementing Hotjar for CRO analysis. From the gathered information, we also concluded that the website would benefit from some redesigning to improve the online customer experience.
By targeting relevant keywords and phrases, the website became more visible to potential customers searching for services similar to those offered by Wander. Using Hotjar allowed a better understanding of user behavior and website performance, enabling optimisation and further improvements.
Additionally, the website redesign incorporated best practices for user interface (UI) and user experience design (UX), making it easier for customers to navigate and engage with the site. This included improving page load speed, enhancing mobile responsiveness, and creating clear calls to action.
By implementing these changes, not only did we attract more clients but we also retained them through a positive and seamless online experience.
Wander saw a remarkable improvement in website metrics and customer engagement.
