After more than three months of rigid restrictions on the Tāmaki Makaurau region, we are all waiting to get back to our lives and for our business owners to be able to get the ball rolling again. 

The New COVID-19 protection framework, also known as the traffic light system, will come into existence on December 2nd at 11:59pm. With Auckland most likely to be in the red light, many restaurants, events venues and food retailers are looking to make the most of the Christmas period and that will become easier the closer we get to green. 

With little visibility on how the next few months are going to unfold, many business owners ask themselves what will be the effect of the 2021 lockdown on the Auckland economy and, most of all, how they can adapt, improve, and succeed in the next few months

The government has announced a $60 million support package for Auckland businesses affected by COVID-19 Alert level changes. This package will be available from December 1st and will grant Auckland businesses up to $3000 + GST through Business Advice support and up to $4000 + GST for an Implementation Grant. 

Activate Tāmaki Makaurau has four primary areas of support:

  • Business Advice
  • Implementation Grants
  • First Steps – Health and Wellbeing support
  • Business community resources

This NEW programme will be focused on delivering advice and implementation in line with:

  • Business: Business continuity, Business operations, Business planning, Business sustainability, Business systems, Leadership, Managing resources,
  • Marketing: Digital enablement, Digital marketing, Marketing strategies.
