Who do you serve best?

Consider the thousands of versions of our world as viewed by thousands of different individuals that are filtering out different things?

This could be the greatest tug of war to our collective consciousness. Our customers are all unique but groups of them have things in common and we refer to these as niches. Communicate who your niche market is and do everything you can to specialize in their needs.

This is substantially better than trying to please everyone.

Understated verses over embellishment

jandalsvinylDoes our understated “kiwi style” risk under selling our story – Tourists that are conditioned to the over hype of the USA may think so.

United Airlines flight menu featured an over the top story of a chef with 30 years experience and his summarized resume as the world’s best, and the creator of their signature French stick with roast beef. It was at best every day and the over embellishment took away from it further.

I prefer our understated style but realise we shouldn’t confuse this with not telling our story.

Is success exponential?

how-to-succeedWhen you are able to repeat a formula, or an attitude, or a set of circumstances, you can repeat a successful outcome.

When a successful person approaches a problem they do it with an attitude expecting to succeed. They apply sufficient resource, effort and focus to understand the problem, develop a plan and in so doing improve the likelihood of success.

It therefore seems fair to say that the resources gained from one success can improve the chance of future success, so yes it could be be exponential?

The ability to communicate your ideas, feelings and knowledge will always be a significant part of how successful you are and in my assessment significantly more important than a monetary measure. Not to say that you can’t have both which highlights a symbiotic relationship between success and the consequence. It raises the question of whether confidence exists before or if it comes afterwards and what part does belief play as the anchor of confidence?

I think they are codependent and at their best never far from each other.
